Mother to Mother Doula Services - All About our Doulas Rosemarie DiMare

Hi my name is Rosemarie and I am a DONA certified doula as
well as a Lamaze certified childbirth educator. I have been
educating and supporting birthing families for more than 10 years
in Monmouth, Middlesex, and surrounding counties. I support
couples in hospitals as well as those who desire to birth their baby
at home with a midwife.
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from college
with a degree in early childhood education. After graduation, I
married John my high school sweetheart. I taught first grade up
until I had my first son in January of 1993 and decided to make a
career as a full time mom. When I got pregnant with my second
child, my husband and I decide to hire a doula to assist us during
my labor. The experience was so empowering. After seeing first
hand the benefits of continuous emotional and physical support
throughout my long and beautiful birth, I knew I was being called
into this profession.
Over the years, I have attended many conferences and seminars
dealing with evidence-based maternity care. I keep current with
various techniques used to enhance labor and reduce pain
naturally and feel it important to educate my couples about their
options. I am involved with (ICAN) International Cesarean
Awareness Network. One of my specialties is counseling women
who are recovering from an unexpected or unwanted cesarean. I
enjoy spending a lot of time educating and supporting women who
desire a vaginal birth. I have been a breastfeeding educator for
fourteen years and believe every woman should be instructed
about the benefits of breastfeeding for both her and her baby. My
most recent accomplishment was getting my certification from
Lamaze International in Childbirth Education.
When I am not teaching or assisting at births, I enjoy spending
time with my husband John. God Blessed me with a man who
supports and encourages me in all that I do. He is my biggest
supporter. My most important job is raising our two boys John
and Nicholas. They are amazing young men who know so much
about pregnancy and childbirth. I know they are going to make
awesome husbands and fathers some day. During my free time I
enjoy reading and taking long walks along the beach. I am
currently training hard in Taekwondo and plan on having my
Black Belt by Fall 2008.
I never thought in a million years I would be doing this. I realize
this is a Special Gift I have been given and I am Truly Blessed.
